Accessing the iPhoto or Photos App Library from the ifolor Designer

The image management software iPhoto for Mac OS was completely replaced during the OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 update in 2015. With the most up-to-date version of the ifolor Designer you can also, unfortunately, no longer access the iPhoto software. Instead, the ifolor Designer can access the Photos app, which replaced the old software. In the ifolor Designer you can access the Photos app and all of your library’s categories and albums.

In order to ensure you don’t have any problems accessing your “Photos” library, you should make sure that your software is up-to-date.

Here’s how it’s done:

Updating the Mac Operating System and ifolor Designer

There are two ways to update the operating system on a Mac computer. For the first way, start out by clicking on the Apple symbol in the upper left-hand corner of your screen and select “About This Mac.”

Afterwards, a window will appear where you can find information about your computer and the current version and status of your operating system. In this window, you can find a button labelled “Software Update” in the lower right-hand corner. After clicking this, you’ll be redirected to the App Store where you can start installing updates.

Alternatively, you can also just directly open the App Store. In the category “Updates” you’ll find all pending updates for your installed applications. Here you can find available updates for your operating system as well as for the ifolor Designer should either of these not be up-to-date. You’ll need an Internet connection to install any updates.

Once the updates are finished, the “Update” option will no longer be shown. You’ll now have no problems accessing your photos in the Photos app from the ifolor Designer and can now design your own photo book, gift, or decoration!
