Do you remember? On the occasion of the international Earth Day in April, we will plant a tree for every order placed. The result is phenomenal: together with Tree-Nation we will plant 10'000 trees. This would not have been possible without you - thank you very much for your support!
In tune with the calendar year, ifolor has planted 2,023 trees for this year's Earth Day. An additional tree was also planted as a thank you to all ifolor customers who took part in a survey in March. The total number of trees planted this year therefore amounts to 3,658.
Some of these trees were planted to support the “Protect Amazonian Biodiversity” project in Peru. We were able to plant 500 Calliandra angustifolia (shown in the picture on the right). This local plant is used in traditional medicine to boost the immune system.
The environment is happy and so are we – 10,000 new trees for our Mother Earth will be planted around the world in connection with International Earth Day 2022. And there is a lot more behind the trees since not only the environment has been helped but people and animals too.
For example, the Usambara Biodiversity Conservation project in Tanzania aims to preserve the biodiversity of the rainforest. Other important issues include the reversal of severe deforestation, the urgent need for timber and building materials, the need for environmental education, and the alleviation of extreme poverty through agroforestry.
The Christmas edition of Happy Hour – Happy Earth that took place on 8 and 9 December 2021 enabled us to plant 24,000 trees around the globe thanks to our customers. In total, Ifolor AG has now been able to plant more than 30,000 trees throughout 2021. This has been done through various campaigns, such as the Happy Hour – Happy Earth campaign and Bike to Work, in which our employees cycled for more trees on the planet. Ifolor AG also planted a tree as a bonus for every survey answered. We look forward to 2022, when we want to do even more for our planet.
Nepal is home to many cultures that are linked by their close relationship with nature and cut off from much of the socio-economic development found in urban areas. Eden began its reforestation project in Nepal in 2015 to improve the lives of local people and restore forests in key areas. The reforestation areas are located in mountainous areas, on steeper terrain around community forests, to create a buffer zone around this national treasure of biodiversity.
During the “Happy Hour – Happy Earth” campaign, on the occasion of World Ocean Day on 8 June 2021, CHF 1 was donated to the marine conservation organisation PADI AWARE for every order placed. Due to the large number of orders, we decided to round up the total amount to CHF 4,500 and were able to support some great projects to protect our oceans as a result.
The PADI AWARE Foundation is a non-profit foundation that promotes global marine conservation through local action. The PADI AWARE Foundation motivates divers and others around the world to take conservation action that will heal and protect the ocean, both above and below the water’s surface, to advance and support PADI’s vision of achieving a balance between people and the ocean.
Together we have made it possible to plant more than 6,000 trees on all continents of the world – with Antarctica as the only exception. To find out more about the exact locations, trees and projects, please visit the Ifolor AG “forest” here:
One of the projects: Conserve Natural Forests in Thailand – Its mission is to restore degraded tropical ecosystems, focusing on reforestation, wildlife conservation and education. More on this project:
